Orange Poland and Asseco transferred more than 3 million customers to a new billing system

More than 3 million Orange customers using wired services – such as telephone, Internet, and television – are already receiving invoices issued with the new billing system. Asseco performed their safe transfer to a new billing environment.

This change allows more flexible plans to be offered and provides greater automation of customer service processes. This is consistent with Orange’s strategy which aims, among others, at maintaining a wide sale offer and services of the highest quality.

Implementation took place between March 2014 and October 2016. The main focus was on safety, quality, and consistency of the migrated data.

Marcin Zagdański, IT BSS Director at Orange: The most important outcome of the project is that Orange Polska customers are now billed more efficiently. Additionally, a new billing environment means new opportunities for further development.

Jacek Krupa – Director for Invoicing, Settlements, and Debt Recovery, leading the program of data migration, said: Processes which have previously required manual labor have now been simplified and automated. Implementation of billing cycles has accelerated the process of clearing and invoice preparation for customers.

Karol Maroszek, Head of Projects Implementation at the Telecommunications and Media Division, Asseco Poland: We carried out an operation on the clearing system which forms the basis of Provider’s revenues. Asseco carried it out without disruptions to the functioning of Orange and with no negative effects for the end customer. This project was successful thanks to very good cooperation and understanding on Orange’s side.
