CEIT wins Packaging & materials handling automation award at Automotive Logistics Awards – Europe 2018!

The winners of the first ever Automotive Logistics Awards – Europe have been revealed at a glittering black tie ceremony in Bonn, Germany. During the course of a spectacular evening, a total of 14 awards were handed out, recognising excellence and innovation in every aspect of inbound, outbound and aftermarket logistics.

CEIT won the Packaging & materials handling automation award for its automated production line support system. This award looked specifically at the most effective use of automation to improve costs, error rates and quality.

The judges felt this was a very interesting and complex implementation project that successfully brought together AGVs, digital twins and augmented reality. They called it highly innovative, with large potential for optimization, and verified improvements for the customer, in this case Volkswagen Bratislava.

Judges also saw potential for the project to be transferable to other automotive logistics projects at an affordable cost.

The winners, selected after considerable evaluation by a distinguished judging panel comprising some of the most senior figures in the industry, took receipt of their prestigious awards at the event from former Opel, Fiat and BMW vehicle designer, Chris Bangle, before a packed house of all the leading lights in the European automotive logistics sector.
